Soccer is back in Chattanooga

For any soccer fans, spring of 2020 is an exciting time for the Chattanooga area.

Starting in late February, and early March Chattanooga will be home to not one, but now two professional soccer clubs with Chattanooga FC joining the National Independent Soccer Association (NISA) and the Chattanooga Red Wolves Soccer Club preparing for their second stint in the United Soccer League (USL).

Chattanooga FC and the Red Wolves will both return the option of student discounts for tickets upon showing a valid student ID.

According to Chauncey Figgures in the HUM building “Yeah, I probably won’t go to a game this year. I like soccer and it is interesting, but I don’t see myself going to a game”.

While Chattanooga FC will continue to call Finley Stadium home for the 11th season in a row, The Red Wolves have begun building a new complex in East Ridge that will also bring shopping opportunities built into the stadium.

According to Matthew Shelton “Yeah I think having two professional teams in Chattanooga will be interesting, maybe they will play eachother at some point and start a rivalry”.

While both Clubs have training starting around the new year, preseason friendlies are set to begin late February with the league matches beginning in March. For more information on the clubs, visit and .
